Chandigarh, February 12, 2019: Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the Congress ticket aspirant from Chandigarh Parliamentary seat, continuing her public meetings in the City, addressed a group of women influencers at Hotel Altius, located in the Industrial Area Phase 2 here today.
Dr Sidhu, a Gynecologist-turned-politician, focused her speech on women empowerment at the all women programme, organized by Mrs Aneeta of 'Lady Queen' organization and coordinated by former Mayor Mrs Poonam Sharma.
Emphasizing on the inner beauty of a woman, Dr Sidhu said, “Inner beauty of a person is as important as the outer personality. If you are a good person from inside, your overall personality will shine like a diamond.”
It may be noted that Dr Navjot Sidhu has been a strong advocate of 50% reservation to women across the board right from government formation and fabrics of each political party upto each government department (centre and state) including provincial police forces.
Dr Sidhu has claimed to fight the ensuing Lok Sabha election on a Congress party ticket from the Chandigarh seat under the women quota.
She told the gathering that “women were more in demand today than their male counterparts in politics”.
