Why is everyone in Sai Dham society holding a glass of water all day?

Sony SAB’s Wagle Ki Duniya has been an interesting slice of life watch for its viewers also while subtly highlighting life lessons through its narrative. In the upcoming track we see Atharva going through a phase where he feels his mother does not love him. And due to this he acts out, making Vandana angry. Vandana and the other members of the family decide to not speak with Atharva, to teach him a lesson and not give in to this behaviour from him.

Disheartened, Atharva goes to Srinivas (Aanjjan Srivastav) and tells him about what happened. To this Srinivas responds by handing Atharva a glass of water filled to the brim. He then asks Atharva if he loved his mother, to which he responds a prompt yes. Srinivas then tells him that imagine this glass of water to be your love for your mother, and if it spills even a little it will mean that your love for your mother is not true. Atharva carefully holds the glass and gets on with his day. Gradually Kittu and Vidhyut also join Atharva, each holding a glass of water filled to the brim. And slowly, everyone at Sai Darshan society is seen doing the same, but none of them really understand the reason or the story behind holding the glass of water patiently.

What is the actual story behind this glass of water that Srinivas has everyone imitating each other? Is there a lesson behind this, that the members of Sai Dham society have failed to see?

Aanjjan Srivastav who essays the role of Srinivas says “Wagle Ki Duniya has always had a special message or a takeaway in every episode. This time around Srinivas is using an old analogy to explain to the new generation the true meaning of focusing on important aspects of life. While he starts off by giving Atharva a small task, gradually everyone is drawn in, imitating the same thing. The upcoming episode has a sweet message and highlights a new perspective of seeing life as it is”.
