Chandigarh: Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology organized a webinar for students and faculty on the topic “Product Portfolio Management: An Insight into Pharmaceutical Industry. 
The webinar was conducted with an intent to acquaint the participants with the role of product portfolio management in aligning the strategic vision and project management activities. The speaker introduced the concept of product portfolio management in simplistic terms as a conflict management activity to ensure appropriate allocation of limited resources to most viable new product ideas. The speaker discussed different stages of product portfolio management and also highlighted the different tools used in each stage for evaluating different projects for value maximization. The objective of portfolio management is to ensure that a more better idea is favored over a good idea. The presentation was followed by a question and answer session. The webinar also explored product portfolio management as a lucrative career option over traditional careers in management. The organizers included Prof. Sanchita Chauhan, Chairperson, Dr.SSBUICET, PU, Ms.Nidhi Singhal, Assistant Professor, Ms. Harjit Kaur, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Prabhash Diwedi, Student, worked wholeheartedly for the smooth conduct of the webinar.
Earlier, Ms.Harjit Kaur, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Webinar gave welcome address. The Key speaker included Ms. Rachna Khanna , Head- Emerging Markets Portfolio China, Russia, Brazil,RoW India, LATAM, ASEAN countries), Dr.Reddy’s Laboratories, Hyderabad who shared their experiences and knowledge about product portfolio management in pharmaceutical industry.
