Jalandhar, January 15, 2026: The War Wounded Foundation commemorated the 10th Defence Services Veterans’ Day with compassion and purpose on 14 January 2026, restoring independence to disabled ex-servicemen by distributing specially modified scooters. The initiative reflected the Foundation’s enduring commitment to transforming adversity into ability through focused rehabilitation and lifelong support.
Twelve modified scooters were presented to war-wounded veterans from Punjab District during an ex-servicemen rally in Jalandhar. More than a distribution, the moment symbolised renewed confidence, mobility, and dignity - empowering veterans to step beyond limitations and re-engage with their communities.
The Jalandhar programme formed part of nationwide Veterans’ Day commemorations, with parallel observances held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, where rallies and welfare desks honoured the sacrifices and service of India’s veterans.
For the War Wounded Foundation, mobility aids are not merely assistive devices; they are instruments of hope. By enabling injured soldiers to reclaim everyday freedoms, the Foundation helps them rebuild self-reliance and purpose after service.
The event brought together approximately 2,500 veterans and family members, fostering camaraderie, gratitude, and shared resolve. On this Veterans’ Day, the collective message was clear: the nation remembers, the nation cares, and the nation stands steadfast with its warriors— Always.
