Volunteers of NSS unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College participated enthusiastically in Plogging Run under Clean India Campaign

Jalandhar, October 5, 2021: Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt.of India, to commemorate 75th anniversary of India's independence, launched Clean India Campaign on 1st Oct.2021 through out India under which single use plastic would be collected in the month of October to make India clean. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, in his message, motivated NSS volunteers to participate in this campaign whole heartedly. He added that clean and plastic free environment is necessary for healthy life. He further appealed the volunteers to spread the message of reduction in the use of plastic. Prof. Satpal Singh, Chief Program Officer, NSS unit, informed that volunteers of LKC are always ready to participate in these environment related activities. He also thanked Principal and management for supporting the unit in environment and social cause related activities. He added that first a pledge to keep the environment clean and reduce the use of plastic was taken. Then, Plogging Run from Punjab State War Memorial, Jalandhar to Lyallpur Khalsa College was organized in which volunteers picked plastic while jogging. This event was orgainized in collaboration with NYKS, Jalandhar, Red Cross and Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar. The campaign was guided by NSS officer Prof.Satpal Singh and NYKS coordinator Nityanand Yadav, while representatives of Red Cross and Municipality and NSS unit leaders Maninderjit Singh, Karandeep Singh and Disha along with 40 volunteers participated actively.
