Vivek High School Mohali students' Stage Play 'Rail Ki Baat'
The students of Vivek High School (VHS), Mohali, staged a theatrical production - 'Rail Ki Baat' at Tagore Theatre, Sec 18, Chandigarh, leaving the audience captivated with a vibrant portrayal of life, emotions and relationships woven around the backdrop of an Indian railway station and train journey.

Chandigarh, Aug 1, 2026: The students of Vivek High School (VHS), Mohali, staged a theatrical production - 'Rail Ki Baat' at Tagore Theatre, Sec 18, Chandigarh, leaving the audience captivated with a vibrant portrayal of life, emotions and relationships woven around the backdrop of an Indian railway station and train journey. The Grade IX students’ theatrical performance celebrated India's 'unity in diversity', by showcasing hilarious moments related to train passengers from different states of the country.
Performed by 65 talented students of Grade IX, the approximately 90-minute play was directed by Chakresh Kumar, founder of Alankar Theatre.
Jaswinder Gandhok, Principal, Vivek High School, Mohali, said, "’Rail Ki Baat’ is a vibrant tapestry of stories that celebrates the essence of India and its people. Through humour, music, dance and poignant moments, the production reflected the many shades of human life and the values that bind us together."
Complimenting the students, Gandhok said that the young performers impressed the audience with their confident performances, expressive acting and teamwork, earning warm appreciation and applause throughout the show. "I am proud of them," she said.
Through a seamless blend of humour, music, dance, movement and engaging storytelling, the production brought alive the aspirations, struggles, resilience and shared experiences of people from diverse backgrounds, celebrating India's rich cultural diversity and the values that unite its people.
Reflecting further, Principal Gandhok said that Vivek High School, Mohali is committed to holistic education by providing students with a meaningful platform to develop creativity, confidence, collaboration and communication skills through the performing arts.
The successful staging of ‘Rail Ki Baat’ reaffirmed the transformative power of theatre as an important medium for learning, self-expression and character building while showcasing the remarkable talent and dedication of the school’s students.
