VIT-AP University Celebrates 6th Annual Convocation; 3,877 Graduands Conferred Degrees

Amaravati (AP) September 26, 2026: VIT-AP University, Amaravati, conducted its 6th Annual Convocation on Saturday, September 26, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of 3,877 graduands, including 86 Ph.D. scholars and 31 Gold Medalists. The 6th Annual Convocation marked an important academic milestone for VIT-AP University and its graduating cohort, as the students formally moved from university education towards their professional and research careers.
The convocation was graced by Justice B. Krishna Mohan, Judge, High Court of Andhra Pradesh, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Suceendran K.M., Head – Academic Alliances Group, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), attended as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder & Chancellor, in the presence of Dr. Sankar Viswanathan, Vice President, Kadhambari S. Viswanathan, AVP; Dr. P. Arulmozhivarman, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Jagadish C. Mudiganti, Registrar, along with faculty, staff, parents and graduating students.
Addressing the graduating students, Justice B. Krishna Mohan congratulated all the graduands and described convocation as a moment of transition, where the knowledge acquired at the university begins its journey into society. He emphasized that a degree provides knowledge and qualifications, while character determines how that knowledge is used, stressing the importance of integrity, fairness, constitutional values and respect for the rule of law.
He appreciated the university’s emphasis on practical learning through its flexible learning system, mentoring programmes, Engineering Clinics, industry-oriented curriculum and international collaborations. The Chief Guest urged the graduating students to remain curious and continue learning throughout their professional lives. He encouraged the graduates to make use of the university’s opportunities for flexible course selection, practical learning, multidisciplinary projects, internships, entrepreneurship training and international exposure.
Calling upon the graduates to contribute meaningfully to society, Justice B. Krishna Mohan said that India needs young people who are innovative, entrepreneurial and technologically capable, while also being compassionate, ethical and socially responsible. He also acknowledged the contribution of parents, teachers and mentors in shaping the graduates’ journeys and urged the students never to forget those who supported them during their formative years.
 Guest of Honour Dr. Suceendran K.M., Head – Academic Alliances Group, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), congratulated the graduating students and highlighted the importance of connecting academic learning with industry requirements. “The graduates stepping out today carry not only the knowledge gained in the classroom, but also the responsibility to apply that knowledge meaningfully. Continuous learning, adaptability and innovation will be essential as they build their professional journeys,” he said.
Founder & Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan congratulated the graduating students, their parents and faculty members on the occasion. “A convocation is a celebration of knowledge, perseverance and the aspirations of our young graduates. I encourage every student to carry forward the values of excellence, discipline and social responsibility and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the nation,” he said.
He particularly congratulated the 86 Ph.D. scholars, observing that doctoral research represents years of persistence, inquiry, experimentation and intellectual discipline. He encouraged researchers to pursue original and socially relevant research addressing challenges in areas such as sustainability, healthcare, education, technology, environment and inclusive development. He also congratulated the 31 Gold Medalists, reminding them that academic recognition marks an achievement but not the end of their journey.
 Dr. P. Arulmozhivarman, Vice Chancellor who delivered the welcome address said, that “VIT-AP University is proud of the achievements of the graduating Batch of 2026, whose strong placement outcomes reflect their academic preparedness, industry exposure and professional skills. The batch has recorded encouraging placement results, with an average package of ₹7 LPA and the highest package of ₹96.26 LPA. These outcomes reaffirm our commitment to providing students with industry-oriented education, experiential learning and opportunities to build successful careers.
