Villages along zero line at Indo-Pak Border receive special aid amidst curfew in Ferozepur

Ferozepur: In a distinct effort to provide the essential supplies to poor and distressed people living in the remote and distant localities, a special team of the district administration on Tuesday approached the far-flung villages along the Zero Line at Indo-Pak International border.
Surrounded by the river Satluj, the vast population of these villages was approached by the district administration and provided the packets of dry ration to 150 families belonging to the village Gatti Rahimke and Jeloke on Tuesday.
 Divulging more, Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh said that the state government is committed to reach every nook and corner, even far-flung areas were not beyond the reach of the government. He said that some villages situated along the Indo-Pak border surrounded by river Satluj had sought the help of district administration to supply dry ration. DC said that a special team was dispatched to provide these people with all the essential supplies.
Nayab Tehsildar Sukhcharan Singh Channi along with NGOs, reached these border villages and distributed dry ration to 150 families. Nayab Tehsildar said that this drive to serve the border villages will continue as long as all the villages were covered. 
“The daily wagers who have lost their livelihood were among our target group to receive regular supplies of dry ration and food packets”, added DC Kulwant. 
“The home delivery of essential goods including vegetables, fruits, grocery, dairy products were getting streamlined every day and district administration is fully concerned about the weaker section of the society adding he said that around 70 NGOs have been roped in to fulfil the needs of the underprivileged”, added DC. /(April 7)
