Vikramaditya Motwane, who is currently in the news for the much awaited second season of Sacred Games will be seen mentoring Heena D'Souza in directing Adi Sonal in a short film anthology by HumaraMovie. Titled 'Shuruaat Ka Twist', the omnibus will present six short films, four of which are mentored by Rajkumar Hirani, Amit Masurkar, Raj Kumar Gupta and Vikramaditya Motwane.

Speaking on his experience of working with Heena, the director said, "With 'Adi Sonal', Heena puts forth a complicated story of how personal choices are always bigger than one person. It was a great experience to mentor her on various aspects of the film - script, editing, music, etc."

Featuring Neena Gupta as 'Amma' of a traditional Sindhi family, the film is a contemporary view at the Sindhi folklore of “Adi Sonal” (Sister Sonal) signifying the fasting ritual of Teej. The film will also feature, Trimala Adhikari (previously seen in Haraamkhor alongside Nawaazuddin Siddiqui), Rahul Bagga and Lalit Behl.

Questioning the assigned duty of women to be ritually spot on to retain the sacred foreverness of the marriage, the film examines the power situation of an old woman in a traditional family and how it changes in the moments of crisis.

Delving into the nuances of his mentoring experience and Heena's vision for the film, the director said, "The story of how women in traditional Indian families adapt to crisis is beautifully captured throughout the screenplay. Her passion reflects throughout the story and I am sure that audiences everywhere will cherish and relate to this film."

Shuruaat Ka Twist is all set to hit the theaters on 31st May.
