Vigilance Bureau Punjab nabs 4 corrupt officers red handed in December, 2013

Chandigarh, January 6, 2014: During the December month in the previous year, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab (VB) nabbed 4 corrupt officers red handed, while accepting bribe. On the other hand, various courts sentenced 5 corrupt officers in the cases filed by the VB.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said that Harjinder Singh A/LM, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. Dhandhowal, District Jalandhar, Bhajan Lal Kumar, PAS-1 Divisional Soil Conservator Officer Patiala, Balwinder Kumar, Patwari Revenue, Chalelan, Distict Patiala, Harmesh Lal, Kanoongo, Circle Chamiari and Parmjit Singh, Patwari Revenue, Vichhoya have been apprehended by the Vigilance Bureau red handed, while accepting bribe. He said that during December 2013, five new vigilance inquires have been initiated, whereas one criminal case has also been lodged. He said that the various courts sentenced five corrupt officers in the cases filed by the Vigilance Bureau.
