Vigilance Bureau nabs Security Guard GLADA red handed accepting bribe of Rs 5,000
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has apprehended Security Guard Jaswinder Singh posted at the office of GLADA, Ludhiana, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000.
Chandigarh, May 4, 2026: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has apprehended Security Guard Jaswinder Singh posted at the office of GLADA, Ludhiana, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above-mentioned accused has been arrested based on a complaint lodged by a resident of village Khasi Kalan district Ludhiana on Chief Minister's Anti- Corruption Action Line portal.
He said that complainant was constructing his shop in village Bhamia Kalan district Ludhiana. In this connection, accused Security Guard came on his under-construction shop and told him that this construction is unauthorised and threatened him that his shop will be demolished. Complainant alleged that accused Security Guard demanded and received bribe money of Rs.12,000. When the accused further demanded Rs.5,000, then the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau Unit, Ludhiana. Complainant had recorded the entire conversation of demanding bribe.
After a preliminary enquiry on his complaint, the VB team laid a trap during which the accused Security Guard was arrested red handed while accepting bribe money of Rs.5,000 from the complainant in presence of two official witnesses.
In this regard, a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation into this case is under progress.
