Ludhiana, October 31, 2015: India being a democratic Country gives its every citizen multiple rights including right to speak and freely express. What is most commonly forgotten is realization of duties while relishing the rights. At present corruption is the biggest obstructing boulder in Nation’s march to progress and success.
The school life is the best time when the young citizens must be brought to understanding of duties as well as rights; hence on instructions of CBSE to make the students aware about the gnawing effects of corruption on Indian Economy, Vigilance Awareness Week was observed from 26-31 October 2015 at BCM Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh road, Ludhiana.
47 students of Classes VI to VII participated in Slogan writing on ‘Preventive Vigilance’ and Poster making on ‘Transparency an anti-dote to corruption’. The students participated with great enthusiasm and showcased their talents. Students of Classes IX-X participated in elocution on ‘Citizens Right to Good Governance’ and street play on ‘Citizen Participation for Preventive Vigilance’. The students had an acquaintance of havocs caused by corruption and presented possible solutions. Thoughmuch has been accomplished, still a lot of struggle and sacrificeis required to make India a corruption free country and the virtues imbibed in future citizens of the country at this age will surely help in constructing a better India.
