Vidya-Daan Program inaugurated at Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges 

The Vidya-Daan Program, a crucial element of the Global Student Assistance Program, was inaugurated at Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges in Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana. The initiative, led by the Ghoman Group, USA, in honor of Sardarni Manjit Kaur Ghoman, received support from Sudhar College. The program aims to assist deserving students at Khalsa Colleges in Gurusar Sudhar across academic, sports, and cultural disciplines.

Ludhiana, November 29, 2023: The Vidya-Daan Program, a crucial element of the Global Student Assistance Program, was inaugurated at Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges in Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana. The initiative, led by the Ghoman Group, USA, in honor of Sardarni Manjit Kaur Ghoman, received support from Sudhar College. The program aims to assist deserving students at Khalsa Colleges in Gurusar Sudhar across academic, sports, and cultural disciplines. 

During the launch, Amarvir Singh Ghoman and Harsharan Singh Ghuman, accompanied by distinguished delegates, were escorted to Nihang Shamsheer Singh by N.C.C. cadets and a musical band. The college governing council, represented by Mahinder Kaur Gill, President, Manjeet Singh Gill, Dr. S.S. Thind, Secretary, Hareena Gill, and all principals of the three colleges, welcomed them with garlands and accolades. 

The event at Nihang Shamsher Singh Hall commenced with students from the college's music department singing the college motto and Shabad, 'Dehi Shiva var mohi ihai.' 

Dr. Harpreet Singh, the College Principal, elucidated the program's purpose and highlighted the Ghoman family's remarkable achievements in both hard work and social standing. Following this, Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Council, shared his connection with the Ghoman family, emphasizing their notable contributions to society, particularly in education and sports in Ghoman village, Gurdaspur district. The occasion showcased a vibrant cultural program by college students, featuring individual songs, dances, group dances, gidha, and malvai gidha, all enjoyed by the audience in a disciplined manner.

Chief Guest Amarveer Singh Ghoman fondly reminisced about his late mother, Sardarni Manjit Kaur Ghoman, expressing profound sorrow at her passing. Originating from Sadhar College, he commended former President Sardar Bakhtawar Singh Gill for establishing significant institutions. Addressing the growing trend of migration from Punjab, he advocated that if students choose to go abroad, it should ideally be after completing their graduation.

Responding to Manjit Singh's request to establish an institute of hotel management at Sadhar College, the chief guest committed to making vigorous efforts to establish it. 

During the event, Ranjodh Singh Padda, Tirpinderpal Singh, Lecturer Gurnam Singh Manjhi, and Dr. Gurindpal Singh Harchowal also addressed the audience. 

The college extended honors to all the guests, and finally, Dr. SS Thind, Secretary of the College Governing Council, expressed gratitude to everyone.
