Vice Chancellor PAU Ludhiana inaugurates District Level Philatelic Exhibition
A District Level Philatelic Exhibition was inaugurated today by Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal Vice Chancellor, PAU Ludhiana at an impressive function held at Dr. Manmohan Singh Auditorium, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana amidst the presence of a large number of people and hundreds of school children. The two-day long exhibition displays very rare and varied stamps on different subjects issued by India and other countries. It was a moment of gaiety and cheerfulness as school children presented colourful dances reflecting the culture and tradition of Punjab.
Ludhiana, December 4, 2025: A District Level Philatelic Exhibition was inaugurated today by Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal Vice Chancellor, PAU Ludhiana at an impressive function held at Dr. Manmohan Singh Auditorium, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana amidst the presence of a large number of people and hundreds of school children. The two-day long exhibition displays very rare and varied stamps on different subjects issued by India and other countries. It was a moment of gaiety and cheerfulness as school children presented colourful dances reflecting the culture and tradition of Punjab.
During the inauguration Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agriculture University Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal released special cover on SUTLEJ-PEX-2025. Dr. Satbir lauded the role of Department of Posts for organizing such Philatelic Exhibition at PAU Ludhiana. He said Department of Posts has strengthened its bonds with the common masses by adopting the latest technology in its operations. He further said that this exhibition will go a long way in inculcating the role of Philately among the masses particularly the students. The vice chancellor commended the role of Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Ludhiana City Division for organizing the Exhibition with ‘MY STAMP’ as one of the unique features offering photographs of individuals on the Postal Stamp.
Balbir Singh, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Ludhiana City Division said, “This initiative is committed to spread the Interest and Role of Philately among the people across India and around the world. The exhibition showcased the ancient and rarest collection through stamps.” He added that different types of stamps have been issued across the world and most of them are on display in this exhibition. He said that this is a rare opportunity for the people of State to be connected with the Post Office.
Yashpal Bangia, President Ludhiana Philately Club complimented the Department of Posts for organizing such exhibition. He added that the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Balbir Singh is not only working for the development of Postal services in the city but also for the strengthening the bonds of common people with Post Office. Bangia spoke about his passion for Philately and stressed upon the students to develop habit of collecting stamps and other rare items so that they can remember our rich heritage.
As a part of this initiative, essay writing and stamp design competition for school students were held at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana. More than 250 students participated in these activities.
Prashant Singla, Deputy Superintendent of Post Offices, Ludhiana presented the vote of thanks. Puneetpal Singh Gill DPRO Ludhiana and numbers of prominent people were also present on the occasion.
