Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal reviewing the arrangements of ‘Kisan Sammellan’ at New Vegetable and Fruit Market Phase 11, Mohali.

Chandigarh, February 15, 2014: Keeping in view inclement weather and heavy downpour in the city and adjoining areas from last 48 hours, the venue of ‘Kisan Sammellan’ of four day Progressive Punjab Agriculture Summit from February 16-19, has been shifted from Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial in Chapparchiri (Mohali) to the New Vegetable and Fruit Market, Phase 11 (Sector 65-A) Mohali.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that a decision to this effect was taken by the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal after a detailed meeting with the senior officers of the state government while reviewing the arrangements of the mega event, this morning at his residence. Later in the afternoon, the Chief Minister along with the battery of senior officers visited the site of the function at Chapparchiri to review the situation on the spot as the venue of ‘Kisan Sammellan’ was badly submerged in rain water rendering its venue marshy. Afterwards Badal visited the newly constructed Vegetable and Fruit Market in Phase 11 to monitor the new venue of this prestigious event.  However all other events related to PPAS including inauguration of agro-tech exhibition by the Chief Minister on February 16 at 11:30 am and technical sessions on the following days would be held as per already stipulated scheduled at Chapparchiri, added the spokesperson.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh, Financial Commissioner Development Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister SK Sandhu, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Gaggandip Singh Brar, Secretary Housing A Venuprasad, Additional Director General of Police (Security and Law & Order) Dinkar Gupta, Secretary Mandi Board Deepinder Singh, Deputy Commissioner TPS Sidhu and Senior Superintendent of Police Inder Mohan Singh. //punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news, world news,
