Vedic Havan Marks New Academic Session at SUPVA; Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha Calls for Excellence in Education, Personality and Life

Rohtak, August 10, 2026: The new academic session 2026-27 at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, formally commenced on Monday with a Vedic Havan-Yajna. An induction programme was also organised for newly admitted students to familiarise them with the university’s academic and co-curricular activities as well as the distinctive culture of the SUPVA family.

Addressing the students, Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha urged them to focus not only on academics but also on developing their personality and making their lives meaningful and exemplary. She said DLC SUPVA had carved out a distinctive identity as an institution unlike conventional universities, offering specialised education in art, design, film, television and other creative disciplines.

Dr. Gunjan said the students had secured admission after intense competition and therefore should recognise their responsibilities towards society along with pursuing quality education. She encouraged them to extend every possible help to those in need and establish the identity of SUPVA students as helpful, responsible and socially conscious citizens.

Before the formal commencement of the new academic session, floral tributes were paid at the statue of Surya Kavi Dada Lakhmi Chand on the university campus. This was followed by a Vedic Havan-Yajna, with prayers for the bright future and success of the new students. Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Ajay Kaushik and his wife Anjula, along with FC Planning and Architecture Ajaybahu Joshi and his wife Kaushalya Joshi, performed the Havan as chief yajmans.

The induction programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by Vande Mataram and the university anthem. FC Faculty of Design Dr. Shaily Khanna briefed the students about various departments and programmes offered under the faculty. Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Ajay Kaushik welcomed the new students and apprised them of the university’s academic activities and academic framework.

FC Planning and Architecture Ajaybahu Joshi provided information about the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the department. Dean Students’ Welfare and FC Visual Arts Vinay Kumar introduced students to various clubs and student-centric activities available at the university.

Academic Coordinator, Film and Television, Debashish Roy introduced the faculty members and staff of the faculty. Director IT Seema gave a presentation on the technological facilities and resources available at the university.

The programme was conducted by Assistant Professor of Acting Department, Dushyant. Teaching and non-teaching staff members of the university were present on the occasion.
