VB-G RAMG will make rural development works more effective, transparent, and technology-driven: HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan

Nilokheri, July 2, 2026: The VB-G RAMG scheme is the successor to MGNREGA. While MGNREGA laid a strong foundation for rural development, VB-G RAMG will carry that legacy forward by making development activities in rural areas more effective, transparent, and technology-oriented. Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), expressed these views while addressing participants as the chief guest at the inauguration of a two-day training program focused on 'Yuktdhara' under the VB-G RAMG scheme.

HIRD Director, Dr. Chauhan inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Kamaldeep Sangwan, the training program coordinator, delivered the welcome address and outlined the program's structure, objectives, and the details of the various sessions.

Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan stated that the successful implementation of schemes is possible only when all officers and employees apply the knowledge gained from training to their work with dedication, honesty, and a sense of responsibility. Training is not merely a means to acquire information but also an opportunity to bring about positive changes in work processes. He emphasized that a proper understanding of every provision of the schemes, timely execution of tasks, transparency, and the effective use of technology are key to making rural development schemes more successful and beneficial to the public.

Dr. Chauhan noted that under the VB-G RAMG scheme, workers will now be provided 125 days of employment instead of the previous 100 days. Additionally, the wage payment process has been streamlined; the payment timeline has been reduced from 15 days to ensure disbursement within 7 days. These reforms will ensure greater employment opportunities and timely payments for workers, as well as increased transparency in the implementation of the schemes.

Faculty at the National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad H.K. Solanki provided detailed information regarding the various technical aspects of the training. He apprised the participants of the scheme's provisions, procedures, and the practical aspects of its effective implementation, while also addressing their queries.

Gurvinder Singh, Consultant from the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Saurabh Arora, Mohit Sharma, and Ajay Kumar—were present, alongside Junior Engineers, Accounts Assistants, and Data Entry Operators from the Fatehabad and Rohtak districts.
