Valedictory Function of NSS Camp Held at Ramgarhia Girls College

Ludhiana, January 9, 2026: The seven-day NSS Camp at Ramgarhia Girls College, held from January 2-8, concluded with a purposeful Valedictory Function, reflecting the spirit of service and nation-building under the central themes of “Viksit Bharat” and a Drug-Free Society. The camp was successfully organized under the guidance of Program Officers Prof. Alka Chauhan, Prof. Ramandeep Kaur, and Dr. Harpreet Kaur, with active participation from dedicated NSS volunteers. The programme commenced with a cordial welcome of the esteemed guests, who were honoured with saplings symbolizing environmental responsibility and sustainable development, key pillars of a progressive and developed India.
Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, inspired students to contribute constructively towards nation-building through awareness, discipline, and social responsibility. An insightful lecture on Digital Literacy was delivered by Dr. Harpreet Kaur, emphasizing ethical digital engagement, cyber safety, and civically conscious citizenship as essential components of a digitally empowered Viksit Bharat. This was followed by an awareness session on Civil Defence and First Aid conducted by officials from the Civil Defence Department—Platoon Commander Inderjit Singh, Platoon Commander Tajinder Singh, and Guard Ravinder Kumar—who trained students in basic emergency response techniques, underscoring the importance of preparedness and personal safety.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur remarked, “The vision of Viksit Bharat can be realized only when our youth are educated, disciplined, and free from the menace of drugs. NSS plays a pivotal role in nurturing socially accountable citizens who contribute towards a healthy and empowered society.” The cultural segment infused vibrancy into the programme, featuring energetic dance performances and thought-provoking street plays focusing on environmental conservation and responsible social media usage, sensitizing students to contemporary societal challenges.
This was followed by an experience-sharing session, during which NSS volunteers reflected on how the week-long camp enriched their sense of social commitment and collective responsibility. A Prize Distribution Ceremony was also conducted on the occasion, wherein, apart from honoring the Best NSS Volunteers, the winners of various competitions organized throughout the week-long NSS camp were felicitated with trophies and certificates. Anchal Thakur and Bhumika Garg were awarded the Best Volunteer Prize in recognition of their outstanding discipline, leadership qualities, and exemplary participation during the camp. Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur congratulated all the volunteers and awardees, appreciating their dedication, enthusiasm, and sincere contribution towards the success of the NSS camp.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the management, Principal, NSS Programme Officers, faculty members, and volunteers for their collective efforts in making the camp a success. The valedictory function reaffirmed the NSS motto “Not Me, But You” and strengthened the resolve of students to continue working towards the ideals of a Viksit Bharat and a Drug-Free Society.
