Chandigarh, September 4, 2019: 10 underprivileged women today graduated from a week long training program in baby-care organised by We Contribute Foundation.

Dr Seema Wadhwa, Senior Gynaecologist, Max Hospital was the Chief Guest at the occasion and awarded the certificates at a function held at Parshuram Bhawan Sec 37. She motivated these women to become independent and earn for their families and children. “It’s essential to happily do whatever we do. Other things come and go but eventually an inner satisfaction and happiness in very important,” she added.

Project Eksha by We Contribute Foundation (a registered charitable foundation) is a a humble initiative of free skill training for rural women particularly in Dhanas and vicinity for baby care. “The project strives to create a win-win situation, to help working mothers find the right person for their child's baby sitting and care, and these underprivileged ladies find job and earning to survive,” said Megha Sharma, a volunteer with the project.

These ladies are made to meditate, learn how to handle their own mind and nuances of handling baby with warmth and love, plus technical information of sterilization and hygiene related to small children.

“It’s important to make these women self-sustained. Any amount of help will not be enough till they themselves learn some skills and work to experience empowered,” said Dr Neha Miglani, a volunteer with the project.

A short 7 days training is a life changer for most of them- emotionally and eventually financially since they find a respectable job.

Two previous batches of underprivileged ladies who were trained for baby-sitting by volunteers comprised 45 ladies. Priya Thukral and Dr Neha Chanana, both volunteers with the project were a part of ceremony today.
