Jalandhar, October 5, 2019: The Valedictory Ceremony of the International Design Week – a collaborative programme between International and national professionals academicians and students took place at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar today.
The motive of this workshop was an endeavour to process and thinking amongst two different cultures to generate sustainable and eco-friendly designs which are aesthetically pleasing and promote harmonious living. The theme of the 7th International Design Week was “How to Solve Social Problems as Designers” along with other sub themes as education such as education and play, company and entertainment, food prepping and storage, health & grooming, religion and devotion, sleep and rest, cleaning, living outside and private and public.
The students with spark and joy worked on these themes creatively. They designed the furniture for living room, class rooms, schools taking inspiration from the tales of their Grandmother. The artistic pieces created by the students under the guidance of their Mentors were not only aesthetically pleasing but sustainable and environmental friendly as well.
Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma putting forth her views about this International Design Week said that she is sure that through interactions and discussion with the designers of other countries, students have learnt lot about their manners, skills and culture and not only this but this has also helped them to polish their skills and explore new challenges.
Rajni Kumar, Coordinator Design Week thanked Ronita Chopra, Director Evergreen Publications and all the International Professionals and Designers for making the event successful.
The students were honoured by Principal Dr.Sucharita Sharma, Renate Boere, Quirine Dob, Jurgen Bey and Melle Smets.
