Urmi’s Tips for Newly-wed Brides!

•    Try not to be too quick to judge your new family, approach them with an open, positive mind.
•         Compatibility with your husband is to be worked upon over a period of time through adjustments.
•         Do not brag in front of your in-laws. Be it your father’s high post, your mother’s jewellery, your bhabi’s great house or your brother’s sports car, try and tone it down! Even if you don’t intend to, you will be unconsciously putting down your husband and his family.
•         Avoid getting too familiar too fast. You might feel like you are being friendly but others may feel like you are imposing on their territory too quickly.
•         Never be angry at the same time. If your partner is angry, try to maintain calm and put forth your point when he/ she is in a better mood
•         Prove your point, but with love. You can make your partner understand your side of the argument with affection.
•         Tell one good thing to your partner every day. And believe it or not, it makes a lot of difference.
•         Find time to flirt with your partner to keep the romance alive in your relationship
•         Give a helping hand to your partner when he or she is under work pressure and heavy stress.
•         Go on a holiday together at least twice a year. And please do not be the good angel to include anyone else along.
•         Don't dig the past. It is a bad habit to keep reminding your partner of his/her past mistakes. Understand that it really hurts.
•         Don't sleep unless you resolve a fight. Whatever the issue may be. A calm discussion and some show of love and affection can always bring an amicable solution.
•         Be understanding. It is the key to any relationship. Be the person before whom your partner can be most relaxed and natural. Love without being judgmental. It works!
