Ludhiana, February 3, 2014: United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana has held a meeting headed by its President Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma with PSERC Chairperson Romila Dubey on Monday at PSPCL Office at Ferozpur Road, Ludhiana.
In this meeting UCPMA has raised the industrialists’ voice by opposing any move of the regulatory Commission to increase tariff in electricity, meeting was held in very positive atmosphere, officials listen the problems of members very patiently.
The UCPMA has brought certain concerns to the notice of Chairperson. These are as under;.      The figure showing the subsidy amount to farm sector is above the actual figure; the Line losses  should be reduced from 17%  as compared to China where this figure is about 4%; there will be no need to increase the tariff rate by making transmission system more efficient and still achieving the target of 2595 Crore in 2014-15; the wrong estimation of subsidy to farm sector by calculating from ruler feeder, while it can be separated for particularly supplying to farm sector rather than to other consumptions in rural areas; PSPCL’s proposal to convert the meters for recording consumption in KVAH instead of already  running KWH meter; PSPCL has appointed 36 Chief Engineers in the Punjab who have no contribution in the functioning  of PSPCL, however the workers at bottom like Linesman can improve it; it is brought to the notice that Farm Sector which is consuming 29% of total electricity & Industrial Sector is consuming 32% of total Electricity while revenue comes back from farm sector is nil, whereas from industrial sector it is 50% , so putting all the pressure on industrial sector will collapse this and ultimately break the backbone of the Economy of Punjab and further create unemployment; industry of Punjab is already facing many problems Labour & Raw material is coming from other states,  inputs costs are increasing day by day, Chinese cheaper import also effecting to compete in open market these external threats were enough and over all this, such steps of increasing power tariff will spoil internal business environment.
The UCPMA delegates said the government must think about the genuine concerns raised by industrialist to save the economy & industry of state which sailed through many leaps and bounds in all these years must not sink.
Charnjit Singh Vishivkarma, Inderjit Singh Navyug, Pradeep Wadhwan, Manmohan Singh Marton, Rajan Gupta, Chander Parkash Sabharwal, Ashok Gupta, Rajinder Singh Sarhali, Ajit Kumar, Baljit Singh Lotey, Accharu Ram Gupta, Vikas Dua and Jaswinder Thukral were present on the occasion.// ludhiana news online, ludhiana news in English, ludhiana news, ludhiana current news, ludhiana news live, Ludhiana breaking news, Ludhiana headlines, Ludhiana latest news, punjab news, india news, punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news,
