University Business School (UBS), Panjab University Hosts Induction Program for M.Com (Hons) and MBA Executive Batch of 2026–2028

Chandigarh, August 18, 2026: University Business School (UBS), Panjab University (PU), hosted its induction program to welcome the incoming M.Com (Hons) and MBA Executive batches of 2026–2028. The event featured insightful addresses from distinguished academic and corporate leaders who shared valuable guidance and inspiration with the new students.
During his address, Rajat Kakar, Former MD of Sony Music India, emphasized the importance of learning from seniors, respecting peers, and seizing every available opportunity to evolve into a successful leader. He highlighted that every employee, colleague, and senior plays a crucial role in helping a leader understand the intricate functioning of an organization. Drawing upon his rich early career experiences at Asian Paints, Kakar shared how maintaining an open mind toward new opportunities was instrumental to his growth as a young manager—even when those opportunities required him to step out of his comfort zone and relocate to a completely different part of the country. Above all, he strongly urged the students to embrace these challenges while consistently upholding the utmost integrity and strictly adhering to their professional standards and rules.
CA (Dr) Vikram Nayyar, Finance and Development Officer (FDO) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, shared the importance of maintaining a good work-life balance and inspired students to pursue holistic growth instead of just rote learning. He asked students to actively engage in organizational duties and assured them that at UBS, they are in good hands to mould their future. Prof. Meena Sharma, Chairperson of University Business School, Panjab University, officially welcomed all the students to the campus and shared her insights about the culture and holistic learning environment here. She emphasised the importance of working hard and contributing to the legacy of this great institution. She noted that UBS has a proud legacy of producing great leaders and she had no doubt that they would very soon be among those great leaders. Dr. Hardeep Anant, Former Dean of Business Programs at City University Ajman, UAE, spoke about the spirit of patriotism—not only towards a common enemy but also as a feeling of brotherhood among one another. He emphasized to the students the true meaning of education, which is a transformation in thinking, feeling, and behaviour.
Dr. Pooja Soni, Convener of the Business Cell and Assistant Professor at University Business School, proposed the vote of thanks, inspiring students to learn actively through engagement, and welcomed them to the UBS and Panjab University family.
