Chandigarh April 27, 2025: The University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a grand farewell ceremony for its post-graduated batch of 2025 under the esteemed chair of Professor Parmjit Kaur, on Sunday. The event, held at Law Auditorium, Panjab University, Chandigarh was a memorable affair, filled with heartfelt moments and expressions of gratitude.

The program commenced with the rendition of the University Anthem, resonating the pride and spirit of the institution. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a symbolic act representing the illumination of knowledge and the pursuit of wisdom.

Professor Parmjit Kaur, the chairperson of the University Business School, Panjab University Chandigarh, extended a warm welcome to all delegates including esteemed Chief Guest, Guests of honour, faculty, research scholars and students, setting the tone for the occasion. She bestowed her blessings upon the students, reminding them that as they embark on their journey into the world, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values instilled by UBS, they should always bear in mind that they carry the legacy of excellence and integrity. Each one of them possesses the potential to make a profound impact on the world. She expressed her sincere appreciation to all the students for dedicating their time to UBS, acknowledging not only their acquisition of professional expertise in their chosen fields but also their embodiment of the values of diligence, dedication, and resilience. The Chairperson, addressing the outgoing students, concluded the speech with words of encouragement, quoting Winston Churchill,"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts," reminding students that their journey has just begun and that perseverance will define their future. She also quoted Peter Drucker, "The best way to predict your future is to create it," urging students to take charge of their dreams with confidence and determination as they step into a new chapter of life.

She urged the students to stay in touch with their alma mater and to continue contributing to its growing legacy.

The highlight of the event was the inaugural address delivered by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Suneet Arora, Deputy General Manager, ICICI Bank Ltd., our own alumnus from 1999 batch, whose insights and wisdom left a lasting impression on the audience.He shared valuable life lessons, urging students to choose their friends wisely as they move forward in life. Drawing a meaningful analogy, he encouraged them to be like a pineapple — standing tall, wearing a crown of confidence, and remaining sweet and kind inside.Feeling a wave of nostalgia, he reflected on his own journey and experiences, reminding the students to always stay humble and curious, no matter how successful they become. His inspiring words served as a heartfelt send-off, leaving the graduates with messages of positivity, resilience, and lifelong learning.

The Guest of honour, Ms. Neha Jain, Regional Head Talent Acquisition North HDFC Bank Ltd. our own alumnus from 2013-15 batch. She congratulated the students and reminded them that they are stepping into a world full of opportunities. Reflecting with a sense of nostalgia, she shared her own journey. She also emphasized that in the journey of life, what truly matters is consistency and focus, encouraging students to stay dedicated to their goals to achieve lasting success. Her words served as a guiding light for the graduating students, motivating them to embrace the future with determination and hope.

The ceremony was further graced by our Guest of Honour Ms. Priya Chalia, Associate Team Lead Bunge Ltd., our own Alumnus from batch 2013-15. She urged the students to always remain confident and to never doubt themselves as they step into the real world. Acknowledging that the outside world is filled with intense competition, she reminded the graduates that amidst all challenges, their parents and mentors will always remain their true cheerleaders throughout life.Her heartfelt words encouraged the students to move forward with self-belief and gratitude, carrying the support of their loved ones as a foundation for their future success.

As a token of appreciation and remembrance, mementos were distributed to the post-graduated batch of 2023-2025 from MBA,MBA(IB), MBA(EP), MBA(HR), MBA(Executive), M.Com.(Hons.) marking the culmination of their academic journey at the University Business School.

Following this, the stage came alive with captivating cultural performances, showcasing the diverse talents of the UBS's students.

Dr. Tilak Raj, Business Cell Coordinator and Associate Professor at UBS, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to all individuals who contributed to the success of the event, including the faculty members, research scholars and students.

The ceremony concluded with national anthem and followed by, a delightful lunch, bringing the event to a pleasant close and forge lasting memories. The farewell function was a testament to the spirit of Companionship and academic excellence that defines the University of Chandigarh, leaving a lasting imprint on all those in attendance.
