During her visit, BJP Spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal and District President Gagandeep Singh Kainth briefed the Minister about the extensive losses suffered in the constituency. Baliawal informed her that the breach of the Sasrali embankment had not only destroyed crops but also resulted in nearly 450 acres of farmland being eroded into the Sutlej River, causing massive losses to the farmers.
He further stated that despite repeated alerts to the administration, no significant preventive measures were taken to control the flooding. However, BJP workers and local village panchayats stepped up voluntarily to mitigate the damage and assist affected residents.

Additionally, the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) allocation of over ₹12,000 crore had already been provided to the Punjab Government, which could be used to support flood-affected citizens.
She emphasized that the BJP-led Central Government stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Punjab during this difficult time. The Minister also directed the district administration officials present at the site to prepare and submit detailed written reports on the losses incurred.
As part of the relief measures, ration kits were also distributed to the affected families, which were sent by BJP-ruled states to provide immediate assistance and support to those who lost their livelihoods due to the floods.
On behalf of the local leadership, Ludhiana Rural District President Gagandeep Singh Kainth expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for visiting the flood-hit areas and personally reviewing the situation, showing solidarity with the people of Punjab during these challenging times.
