Union Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya Visits Flood-Affected Villages in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, October 11, 2025: Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nirmaben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, is on a two-day official visit to inspect the flood-affected areas of Punjab. Today, she visited the flood-affected regions to review relief and rehabilitation operations. She toured Talwandi Kalan, Bonkar Dogra, Gorsiyan Hakmara, Lopon, and Gill areas in the district.

On the first day of her tour, the Minister visited Alamgir to seek blessings for the welfare of the people of Punjab. She paid obeisance at Gurudwara Shri Manji Sahib. Notably, the Minister reviewed the progress of flood relief operations and gathered information about the safety of homes, fields, and livestock. She issued necessary instructions for damage assessment and encouraged the district administration to continue their commendable work and assist the flood-affected people. She appealed for every possible effort to be made to distribute compensation to families in a timely manner.

Additionally, the Minister met with affected families, farmers, women, and vulnerable sections of society. She interacted with them, listened to their problems, and assured them of continued relief measures.

The Minister also held discussions with district officials, including local panchayat members and other officers, to review ongoing rehabilitation work. Furthermore, the Minister distributed rations to families in need.

While interacting with affected farmers and families, she informed them that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had visited Punjab. On September 9, he conducted an aerial survey of Punjab to assess the disaster and released ₹1,600 crores for the affected people. He has also directed Union Ministers to assess the situation of the people of Punjab. The Union Government stands with every family in Punjab.

"We are striving to ensure that all possible assistance reaches the affected families at the earliest. The Union Government stands with the affected families at every step. Under Modi ji's leadership, the Union Government stands with the people of Punjab in this hour of crisis, and efforts are being made to expedite rehabilitation and reconstruction work," she stated.

Home Minister Amit Shah has held a high-level meeting to assess the situation in Punjab. Under the Home Minister's directives, the Central team has completed the survey work in Punjab. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has provided the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to Punjab's farmers. The 21st installment of the fund has been released. The Union Government has transferred funds to the accounts of approximately 11 lakh farmers in Punjab, providing them immediate relief. Additionally, the Food Department has been reviewed, and arrangements have been made to ensure adequate rations reach the people.

She remarked that the land of Punjab has always been a symbol of courage. During this period of crisis, voluntary organizations and people have worked together. The Minister expressed her hope that soon this sacred land of Punjab will once again be filled with greenery, and everyone will return to normal life.

Senior officers of the district administration and other dignitaries were present with the Minister during this tour. Subsequently, the Minister also visited the Darbar sect community in Lopon.

It is noteworthy that the Minister will visit the flood-affected villages of Sasrali Colony, Rood Bann and Boothgarh tomorrow.
