Union Minister Manohar Lal calls upon students to connect with culture and social concern

On the concluding day of PG Diksharambh Utsav organized at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Union Minister Manohar Lal gave the message to the students to set a clear goal in life and make continuous efforts to achieve it. He inspired the newly admitted students to move forward on the path of truth and knowledge by following the ideals of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. Motivating the students, the Union Minister said that it is necessary to connect with values, culture and social concerns in life.

Rohtak, August 13 2025: On the concluding day of PG Diksharambh Utsav organized at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Union Minister Manohar Lal gave the message to the students to set a clear goal in life and make continuous efforts to achieve it. He inspired the newly admitted students to move forward on the path of truth and knowledge by following the ideals of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. Motivating the students, the Union Minister said that it is necessary to connect with values, culture and social concerns in life.

Appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaigns, he called upon the youth to actively engage in social responsibilities. The Union Minister also praised MDU's campaigns related to social upliftment. Referring to the National Education Policy-2020, he said that special importance has been given to nationalism, practical knowledge and social responsibility in it. Sharing his life experiences, he underlined the contribution of education and teachers and appealed to the alumni to cooperate in the development of their alma maters.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh, while presiding over the program, said that MDU is constantly striving for positive change in the society. He gave information about the efforts being made by MDU for the upliftment of the society and the new initiatives being taken for the all-round development of the students.

Union Minister Manohar Lal launched the Community Service and Outreach App by MDU, which actively connects students with social concerns. Through this Community Reach App, students will be able to do works of social concern by registering for community service.

Union Minister also launched Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Skill-Based Incentive Scheme for Students, a unique initiative aimed at empowerment and skill development of students.

Heads of drug-free homes in the villages adopted by MDU under the Drug-Free Home Campaign were also honored by the Union Minister by giving them name plates of drug-free homes. Heads of drug-free homes - Jai Bhagwan of Bhali Anandpur, Naresh Kumar and Kamala Devi of Titauli, Suresh and Jitendra of Lahli, Sohan and Vijay Kumar of Baniyani and Sombir and Anil of Madaudi were honored.

RCI Chairperson Dr. Sharanjit Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. S.C. Malik, Registrar Dr. Krishan Kant, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg along with MDU Deans, Department Heads, students and intellectuals of the city were present on this occasion.
