Union Home Minister Inaugurates UPITS 2026; 2,800+ B2B Meetings Held on Opening Day

Greater Noida, September 25, 2026: The 4th Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 was inaugurated today by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, along with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath in the presence of dignitaries at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The five-day trade show is being organised by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in association with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Arvind Goenka, Regional Chairman (NR), FIEO, and Dr Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO, FIEO, besides senior functionaries of the Government, industry, exporters, overseas buyers and international delegations.
The opening day witnessed five fruitful meetings between the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and representatives of the Partner Countries—Japan, Russia, Vietnam, Singapore and Belarus. Diplomats and leading business representatives from these countries discussed opportunities for strengthening trade, investment, technology collaboration and industrial partnerships with Uttar Pradesh.
A separate interaction was also organised under the FIEO umbrella, in which a delegation of 30 leading foreign buyers from the USA, UK, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Oman, the Netherlands and other European countries met the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The interaction focused on sourcing opportunities, investment possibilities and direct trade linkages with Uttar Pradesh-based enterprises.
The dedicated B2B area in Hall No. 17 witnessed more than 2,800 B2B meetings on the first day, with participation by around 500 MSMEs from Uttar Pradesh generating business enquiries of Rs 140 crores. The meetings were highly productive and enabled direct engagement between overseas buyers and Indian sellers across diverse product and service sectors.
On September 26, 2026, more than 225 foreign buyers are expected to participate in the B2B meetings, with encouraging prospects for business enquiries, sourcing tie-ups and export orders.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO, FIEO, said that UPITS 2026 is showcasing the extraordinary capabilities of Uttar Pradesh-based sellers, particularly in agri and food products, textiles, handicrafts, AI and IT, pharmaceuticals and other emerging sectors. He added that the event is creating a strong platform for Uttar Pradesh’s MSMEs and exporters to connect directly with international markets and build sustainable business relationships.
UPITS 2026 will continue till September 29, 2026, bringing together Indian manufacturers, exporters, MSMEs, investors, global buyers and partner-country delegations on a common platform for trade and investment cooperation.
