Union Health Ministry clears Rs.500 crore PGI project for Ferozepur, work to begin in current year
Ferozepur, September 18, 2019: Giving a gift to Ferozepur district, the union ministry of health and family welfare has approved the whopping amount Rs.500 Crore for PGI project for the Ferozepur, which aims at providing top-class healthcare services to the people of Ferozepur district.
A meeting of high power committee was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Secretary Health Preeti Suddan in which PGI director Jagatram, Head of the Orthopedic Wing Sameer Aggarwal and officials of Engineering branch took part gave its nod to the project. The finance department has also given its approval for the PGI Ferozepur.
Divulging more, MLA Ferozepur Parminder Singh Pinki who has been a pivot to bring this project, said that it is like a dream comes true and this project will prove to be a boon for the people of Ferozepur. The MLA said that after this project is completed, the people of Ferozepur don’t have to go to Jalandhar or Ludhiana for top-class healthcare services as all these services will be available in their home town.
Pinki further said that Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh has met with the union health minister Mr. Harshavardhana to get the procedure expedited as a result of which the project has been cleared by the ministry, which is expected to commence in the current year.
Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Chander Gaind said that all the procedures for the PGI have been completed by the state government as a part of which a chunk of 25 Acre land near circuit house has been handed over to the ministry and hopefully this project will begin in the current year.
Giving credit to MLA Parminder Singh Pinki for bring PGI to Ferozepur, Gaind said that it was the brainchild of MLA Pinki to provide top class healthcare services to the people of Ferozepur in their home town, which is likely to fulfill soon, adding he said that since the finance department has given its nod to the project, there will be no hurdle to accomplish this mega project
