Jalandhar: Commemorating the 551st birthday of Sikhism's founder Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Lovely Professional University (LPU) is installing a Chair in the name of the Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 18th December. Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of India, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will virtually inaugurate the installing ceremony as Chief Guest of the day. The Chair will be for studies in global peace and equality.

The auspicious day will also witness the release ceremony of the English version of the book ‘Shri Guru Nanak Dev Jee’, which is authored by avid writer Education Minister ‘Nishank’ for national and international readers. Guest of Honour will be His Excellency Mr Reuben Gauci, High Commissioner of Malta. Punjab Cabinet Minister of "Technical Education & Industrial Training" Charanjit Singh Channi will preside over the virtual ceremony. This unique occasion is an ‘International Seminar on Peace, Justice and Global Harmony’ at LPU, where renowned international scholars are to address the LPU staff members and students.

The installed ‘Chair’ will also be entrusted with conducting research on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The 550th birth anniversary of the Guru Ji falls in this year. Punjab Government has offered this prestigious Chair to LPU along with selected few other national and international universities.
