Actor urges performers to go beyond dialogue memorisation at IFFH master class

Rohtak, September 20, 2026: Renowned Bollywood actor Akhilendra Mishra on Saturday urged aspiring actors to understand a character’s mindset, circumstances and social environment rather than merely memorising dialogues.
Speaking at a master class on the second day of the International Film Festival of HIFA (IFFH), Mishra shared insights from his experience of working in around 55 films, including Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Gangajal, Hulchul, Veer-Zaara and Apaharan.
He discussed dialogue delivery, expressions and character building, stressing the importance of natural acting and regular practice. Mishra said actors should closely observe people, society and everyday events, as such observations help make characters more authentic and convincing on screen.
Calling theatre a strong foundation for acting, he said it develops discipline, voice modulation, body language and the ability to connect directly with audiences.
