Under the aegis of Disha - an initiative, Innocent Hearts Inspires Students to Explore Emerging Career Pathways
Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town organised a Career Guidance and Counselling seminar for the students of grade XI and XII under “Disha – An Initiative,” run and managed by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust. The students of Loharan and Noorpur branches joined virtually.
Jalandhar, October 8, 2026: Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town organised a Career Guidance and Counselling seminar for the students of grade XI and XII under “Disha – An Initiative,” run and managed by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust. The students of Loharan and Noorpur branches joined virtually.
The resource person was Amandeep Kaur, Regional Manager at Plaksha University, addressed the students on the theme “STEM Pathways Beyond Medical and Engineering.” Highlighting the rapid changes in technology, Kaur emphasised the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence and the need to develop skills for an evolving professional world. She explained that careers are becoming increasingly non-linear, offering students opportunities to explore different roles and fields throughout their lives.The session introduced students to interdisciplinary learning across areas such as Artificial Intelligence, biosciences, humanities and economics. Kaur discussed how combining knowledge from different disciplines can encourage innovation and open up diverse career opportunities. She also highlighted the role of collective philanthropy in supporting education and shared insights into Plaksha University’s Mohali campus and its Freshmore curriculum, which provides a broad foundation before specialisation.
Explaining the importance of subject choices, she highlighted Mathematics as a key requirement for pursuing technology-related pathways, including certain options available to commerce students. She also discussed emerging opportunities in product development, computing, machine learning and entrepreneurship, encouraging students to contribute to India’s innovation and development. A token of gratitude was presented to Kaur by Rajeev Paliwal, Principal, Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, Amit, Vice - Principal, and Dr Arjinder Singh, Principal, Innocent Hearts College of Education.
The seminar encouraged students to look beyond conventional career choices and make informed decisions based on their interests, strengths and aspirations.
