Chandigarh, October 17, 2025: University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development (UIFT & VD), Panjab University, today marked Diwali with joy and fun.
The celebration opened with the worship of the Almighty and flowed into a full day of student-led creativity like Rangoli competition, Mehendi competition, reel-making, and Lippan art competition before closing with a lively dance segment. Students also enjoyed refreshments arranged for the occasion.
Kashish (M.Sc. III) emerged as the winner of the Reel Making competition, followed by Parneet Kaur (B.Sc. III) and Swiyyahdeep (B.Sc. I) in second and third place, respectively.
The Rangoli competition saw Arshnoor (B.Sc. III) securing the top position, with the second prize shared by Ankita, Mehak, Kritika, and Suhani (all B.Sc. I), while Payal and Bhumika (B.Sc. I) bagged the third prize.
In Lippan Art, Aparna clinched the first position, followed by Pawan Dhillon and Kashish Pandwar.
The Mehendi competition was won by Mandeep (B.Sc. III), with Sakshi (B.Sc. I) as the runner-up; Parneet (B.Sc. III) and Sanchita (B.Sc. I) shared the third spot.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Kirti Sheoran under the guidance of Prof. Prabhdip Brar, Chairperson, UIFT & VD. The Cultural Committee consisting of Palki Khurana, Alisha, Gurkiran, Aanya, Ekam, and Tanisha, ensured seamless execution.
