The Department of Mechanical Engineering, University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chandigarh, organised an expert lecture titled “Mastering Efficiency: The Toyota Production System – The Toyota Way for Future Mechanical Engineers.” The lecture was aimed at introducing students to modern industrial practices and efficiency-driven production systems.

Chandigarh, March 13, 2026: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chandigarh, organised an expert lecture titled “Mastering Efficiency: The Toyota Production System – The Toyota Way for Future Mechanical Engineers.” The lecture was aimed at introducing students to modern industrial practices and efficiency-driven production systems.
The expert lecture was delivered by Sukhpreet Singh Giani, an engineer turned journalist, motivational speaker, and corporate trainer with extensive cross-industry experience. During the session, he explained the core principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS) and highlighted the importance of Kaizen (continuous improvement), waste elimination techniques, and efficiency in manufacturing systems. The lecture also included practical insights and real-world examples from industrial environments, making the session highly engaging for students.
The program was organised under the guidance of Prof. Sukhwinder Singh, Director, UIET Chandigarh, who served as the Patron of the event. 
Prof. Shankar Sehgal from the Department of Mechanical Engineering delivered the welcome note and highlighted the importance of sharing industry expert opinions during such sessions.
Members of the organising team included Gulshan Kumar and Sandeep Trehan, who contributed to the successful conduct of the program. Prof. Rajesh Kumar delivered the formal vote of thanks.
