UIAMS organises 2 more Placement Sensitisation Sessions in Collaboration with Central Placement Cell, Panjab University

Chandigarh, September 22, 2026: University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, organised a series of Placement Sensitization Sessions for students of the new batch 2026–27 in collaboration with the Central Placement Cell (CPC), Panjab University, under the theme Learn, Connect and Grow. The initiative aimed to familiarise students with industry expectations, career opportunities, professional skills and placement preparedness.
The sessions were organised under the guidance of Prof. Meena Sharma, Director, Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, and Prof. Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Director, UIAMS, with Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, TPO, UIAMS, representing the Central Placement Cell. The sessions featured interactions with distinguished UIAMS alumni and industry experts who shared their professional journeys and practical insights with students.
The session for students of BBA-MBA Sectoral programme was conducted by Dr. Sanjiv Gupta, Former CGM, SML Isuzu and Plant Head, Mahindra & Mahindra, on “Career Building, Skill Development, and Industry Expectations.” He emphasised that academic qualifications need to be complemented by strong hard and soft skills, proactive initiative and a continuous approach towards innovation and professional development.
The afternoon provided UIAMS students with an opportunity to interact with three distinguished alumni/industry experts: Mr. Kartikay Nikhanj, UIAMS 2021 batch, Infrastructural Management, associated with Rockwell Automation, shared insights relevant to industry exposure, career development and professional growth. Ms. Shaina Sachdeva, UIAMS 2017 batch, Pharmaceutical Management, and an Entrepreneur, interacted with students on career development and the opportunities and challenges associated with building a professional journey in the pharmaceutical and entrepreneurial domain. Mr. Ashish Punj, Founder, GrowTricity, shared his entrepreneurial and professional experience and insights on career opportunities, industry expectations and developing an industry-oriented outlook.
The sessions were coordinated with the active involvement of the student representatives. The BBA-MBA session was conducted and managed by Devishi Manhas and Harpinder Singh Mavi, Class Representatives of BBA-MBA 1st Year, while the sessions for MBA (Sectoral) were coordinated by Harshil Mahajan, Jaskaran Preet Singh Saini, Subeg Singh Sidhu and Smriti Rana.
The sensitisation sessions enabled students to gain practical exposure to the corporate environment and understand the importance of communication, confidence, teamwork, adaptability, initiative, problem-solving and continuous learning in building successful careers.
