UIAMS Hosts Prize Distribution Ceremony of RANBHOOMI 2026
University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, today hosted the Prize Distribution Ceremony of RANBHOOMI 2026 marking the grand culmination of the South Campus’s largest interdepartmental sports event.
Chandigarh, March 25, 2026: University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, today hosted the Prize Distribution Ceremony of RANBHOOMI 2026 marking the grand culmination of the South Campus’s largest interdepartmental sports event.
The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries including Prof. Namita Gupta (DSW Women) and Aditi Sheoran, the youngest captain to lead the U-19 Chandigarh Women’s Cricket Team. Their presence added immense prestige to the occasion and served as a source of inspiration for the students. The event also acknowledged the valuable support of Sushil Singh from Decathlon, who attended as the Prize Sponsor, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to promoting sports and youth development.
Prof. (Dr.) Anupreet Kaur Mavi, Director, UIAMS, congratulated all winners and participants, appreciating the Sports Club UIAMS for organising such a large-scale and impactful event. She reiterated UIAMS’s commitment to fostering both academic excellence and sporting spirit.
Prof. Namita Gupta applauded the scale and success of RANBHOOMI 2026, stating that sports play a vital role in shaping discipline, resilience, and a winning mindset among youth. She encouraged students to continue balancing academics with sports for holistic growth. She commended the organisers for ensuring inclusive participation across departments.
Aditi Sheoran, inspiring the audience with her journey, remarked that leadership in sports begins with self-belief and consistent effort. She motivated students to pursue their passion with dedication and not fear challenges, sharing her experience as a young captain representing Chandigarh.
Winners across multiple sporting categories, including basketball, volleyball, cricket, football, chess, table tennis, and tug of war, were felicitated with medals and certificates amid great enthusiasm.
RANBHOOMI 2026 witnessed participation from over 300 students across departments, making it a landmark event for the South Campus. The prize distribution ceremony served as a fitting tribute to the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance displayed throughout the event.
The event was also attended by Dr. Manjushri Sharma, Event Coordinator; Dr. Naveen Kumar; and Training-cum-Placement Officer Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, along with other faculty members, organisers, and enthusiastic participants. The ceremony concluded on a celebratory note, leaving behind a strong message that sports are not merely about winning, but about unity, growth, and building lifelong values.
