Chandigarh, August 12, 2025: University Business School (UBS), Panjab University, welcomed its new batch of Master of Business Administration (Executives) and Master of Commerce (Hons.) students for the 2025–2027 session with an induction program that blended academic orientation, industry insights, and campus culture guidance. The event featured keynote addresses from Dr. Pradeep Khanna, Group Project Manager, Infosys Ltd., and Prof. Amit Chauhan, Dean Students Welfare, Panjab University, who shared valuable advice on lifelong learning, adaptability in the age of Artificial Intelligence, and making the most of university life.

Dr. Khanna described AI as the “next major revolution” after the steam engine, computers, and the internet, noting its potential to both replace and create jobs. He emphasised the shift from “just-in-case” to “just-in-time” learning and urged students to embrace continuous upskilling.

Prof. Chauhan, with over two decades of teaching experience, encouraged students to build genuine friendships, explore PU’s vibrant cultural and sports ecosystem, and seek mental well-being support when needed.

Earlier, in her welcome address, Chairperson, UBS, Prof. Parmjit Kaur highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of business leaders through rigorous academic programs, industry collaborations, and skill-building opportunities. She described the MBA Executive as a prestigious evening program for working professionals and the M.Com (Hons.) as a comprehensive course in commerce and finance. Quoting Colin Powell, she reminded students that “success is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”

The ceremony, held at the UBS Auditorium, began with the Panjab University anthem and ceremonial lamp lighting. Faculty introductions, interactions with business leaders, and networking sessions gave students a first-hand understanding of their academic journey ahead. The program also offered clarity on the structure, objectives, and real-world applications of the MBA Executives and M.Com (Hons.) courses.

Organised under the chairmanship of Prof. Parmjit Kaur with coordination by Dr. Tilak Raj, Associate Professor and UBS Business Club Coordinator, the event brought together faculty, staff, research scholars, and students.
