Chandigarh, February 23, 2024: As a part of the ongoing two-week Refresher Course in Pedagogy in Higher Education being held at UGC-MMTTC, Punjab University Chandigarh.

Prof Sachidananda Mohanty, ex Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Odisha and currently holding the position of Sri Aurbindo Chair at Panjab University, Chandigarh delivered a lecture on ‘Sri Aurobindo’s message to the teachers’ .

While deliberating on the topic Prof Mohanty said that Sri Aurobindo said that, ‘Nobody can be taught’ meaning thereby that the teacher has to be a facilitator and should not be an authority figure in students’ education. He also raised the issue of ‘thought-phobia’ in the society where people do not come up with original thoughts.

Prof Anju Suri, Director, UGC-MMTTC welcomed and introduced Prof Mohanty. Participant-teachers from Maharashtra, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh attended the sessions.
