Chandigarh, January 29, 2014: Two minutes silence would observed on 11 am on January 30, 2014 in all Punjab government offices in the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the General Administration Department said that every year, on this day, two minutes silence is observed throughout the country and all the Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Special Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, Joint Secretaries, Special Secretaries/Secretaries/Private Secretaries of Ministers and Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, heads of departments, educational institutions and Legal Remembrance have been directed to ensure the compliance. As per the standing instructions, the silence would be observed and work and movement would be stopped for two minutes at11 am. He said that on hearing the signal, wherever available, all persons would stand up and observe the silence.
