Greater Noida, September 23, 2025: Sharda Hospital hosted a two-day national conference focused on the implementation and challenges of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). The event brought together senior healthcare professionals, administrators, policy experts, and government representatives.
The main objective of the conference was to review the progress in delivering quality and affordable healthcare services to beneficiaries under the scheme, and to discuss future challenges and possible solutions. Discussions included key topics such as beneficiary registration, availability of health benefit packages, coordination with hospitals, and measures to prevent misuse of the scheme.
Chief Guest Retired Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor, Chairman of NABH Steering Committee, highlighted that the conference was centered on the overall goals of AB-PMJAY – particularly, providing financial health protection to poor and vulnerable families and achieving universal health coverage. He praised Sharda Hospital for its outstanding work in the healthcare sector. He also appreciated the leadership of the Sharda Group Chairman, saying it played a key role in making the initiative successful.
Dr. Kapoor also pointed out that private hospitals face many challenges in implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme, but its impact is significant globally. He added that though the benefits might not always be visible immediately, serving people is the real purpose behind such initiatives. It takes time for any large-scale scheme to become fully effective on the ground.
Sharda Group Chairman P.K. Gupta stated that the scheme is vast and deep, and he appreciated the Prime Minister’s vision, which is helping economically weaker sections get better healthcare. He emphasized that Sharda Hospital has been providing treatment at very low cost since its inception, and working in education and healthcare is the greatest form of service.
He proudly shared that over 25,000 patients have been treated under the scheme at Sharda Hospital. He added, “Our real dream is to provide quality healthcare at an affordable cost. I see this scheme succeeding, and we are walking the path of our sages, who considered public service as the highest service.”
The conference is also expected to benefit faculty members and students, contributing to the nation’s growth in healthcare and education.
Distinguished guests present at the event included Retired Major General Dr. Atul Kotwal, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Y.K. Gupta, CEO Prashant Gupta, Medical Superintendent Dr. Rammoorti Sharma, among other dignitaries.
