Two day 'Environment Conservation Fair 2024' commenced with message to save air, water and soil

With an aim to spread the message to save air, water and soil, Municipal Corporation (MC) and SOCH (NGO) organised an exhibition on the first day of two day Environment Conservation Fair-2024 that commenced in Nehru Rose Garden on Saturday.

Ludhiana, February 3, 2024: With an aim to spread the message to save air, water and soil, Municipal Corporation (MC) and SOCH (NGO) organised an exhibition on the first day of two day Environment Conservation Fair-2024 that commenced in Nehru Rose Garden on Saturday. 

The two day fair was inaugurated by Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi and the fair would continue on Sunday too. Around 20000 residents/students participated in the fair on the first day.

For spreading awareness among the residents to save air, water and soil, students of different schools, colleges and universities have presented science models during the exhibition. Similarly, many social service organisations have set up different stalls and gave a message to save the environment.

A live workshop was also conducted on clay ornaments and utensils, vermi compost, bonsai etc.

Sant Baba Gurmeet Singh, President Dr Balwinder Singh Lakhewali, Secretary Dr Brij Mohan Bhardwaj and MC Zonal Commissioner (ZoneD) Jasdev Singh Sekhon said that saving the environment for the future generations is the need of the hour. 

Working on these lines, science models have been installed by various schools, colleges, universities and social service organizations during the fair.  Similarly, efforts are being made to spread awareness through cultural programs.  

Live workshops on earthen ornaments and utensils, vermicompost, bonsai, etc. were also conducted during this, giving people some options to solve environment related challenges.

Competitions between various schools and universities were also conducted on the first day of the fair, in which DAV Public School Pakhowal Road stood first in the 'Bio Breakthrough'.  Bhopal City - Police DAV Public School stood second in 'Story of Tragedy to Trump'.  Similarly, BCM 32 Sector School stood third in 'Next Generation Lithium'.  BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School stood third in 'Namami Gange', while CT University received the Consolidation Prize in Integrated Farming.

Sekhon, Lakhewali and Bhardwaj said that this is the third annual Environment Conservation Fair organised to spread awareness among residents to save environment. The fair aims to highlight various aspects of environment conservation such as heritage tree planting, water conservation, soil conservation, organic home gardening, waste management, waste management and composting, pollution free vehicles, air pollution  Reduction, noise pollution, environment-friendly packaging, energy conservation, solar energy, healthy lifestyle products, whole grains and human health etc.

MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi also appreciated the efforts of SOCH (NGO) and all the participants who have come together to sensitize the residents. He said that everyone should contribute their bit to save the environment for our future generations.

Tota Singh, Dr Manmeet Manav, Engineer Amarjit Singh, Charandeep Singh, Rahul Kumar, film actors Shavinder Mahal, Raj Dhaliwal, Paramjit Pallu, Mohan Bagan, Nirbhay Dhaliwal, Aman Johal etc also participated in the fair on the first day.
