Dharamsala, February 11, 2014: Today is the second day of strike by Public Sector Banks in Himachal Pradesh, and if we include Sunday, the banks will remain closed for three days in a row due to banks strike. As a result, there is going to be a huge impact on the market in the state. Working class was the worst affected due to banks shut down for such a longer period. Because of the difficulties encountered by the Bank strike a direct effect was observed throughout the state.
United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) under the auspices of the Kangra district indicates that  in a two-day strike the loss could be more than Rs.1,100 crore in the state. Kangra District which has more than 22 public sector bank with around 250 branches is the worst hit by this strike. District officials of PNB said in a report that estimated effected turnover of two days strike could cross even over Rs.1,100 crore. The bank employees are demanding a pay rise.
