Ferozepur, August 25, 2013: The Ferozepur police claim to have arrested two persons and booked under NDPS Act on recovery of heroine.
Giving this information in a press release by Manminder Singh, SSP Ferozepur said, the police team working on the directions of taking legal action against the anti-social elements and drug smugglers, under the supervision of Raghbir Singh, SP(D), the Makhu police headed by Gurpreet Singh, SHO had put a ‘naka’ at Makhu on Amritsar-Jalandhar highway when one white Indica car was signaled t stop but tried to move at high speed from the naka but the police team with its nimbleness stopped the car.
During the preliminary investigation, the driver and person accompanied disclosed their identity as Dharminder Singh of Guri Ki Wadali Patti Randhawa falling under Chhereta District Amritsar and Harpal Singh of Bharoana in Kapurpura District. On further search operation, 1 kg of heroin wrapped in plastic envelope was found allegedly on the passenger seat adjoining the driver was recovered, having value of Rs.5 crore in the international market.
He further said, a case under NDPS Act has been registered at Makhu and further investigation is still going on and more important clues are expected to come on surface with regard to smuggling of heroine by these persons.
