Turban Tying Competition Held at CT Group in Tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh
Paying a heartfelt tribute to the legendary freedom fighter Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, CT Group of Institutions organized a Turban Tying Competition at the campus. The event celebrated the rich cultural heritage and identity associated with the Sikh turban while encouraging students to showcase their skill and pride in tradition.
Jalandhar, March 22, 2026: Paying a heartfelt tribute to the legendary freedom fighter Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, CT Group of Institutions organized a Turban Tying Competition at the campus. The event celebrated the rich cultural heritage and identity associated with the Sikh turban while encouraging students to showcase their skill and pride in tradition.
More than 30 participants enthusiastically took part in the competition, demonstrating various traditional styles of tying turbans such as Morni, Patiala Shahi, Vatta Wali, and Pooshni. The participants displayed remarkable speed, precision, and elegance in presenting these styles.
The competition was judged by the team from Turban Academy including Chanpreet Singh, Jashanpreet Singh, and Lovepreet Singh, who evaluated the participants based on technique, style, and overall presentation.
The event was organized in the presence of Director Campus Dr Shiv Kumar, Director Academic Operations Dr Sangram Singh, Dean Student Welfare, Dr Arjan Singh and Principal of CT Institute of Hotel Management Divoy Chabra, who appreciated the initiative for promoting cultural awareness and honoring the legacy of Bhagat Singh.
At the end of the competition, Sukhdeep Singh secured the First Prize and was awarded a cash prize of ₹3100. Manjinder Singh won the Second Prize with ₹2100, while Prabhjit Singh secured the Third Prize and received ₹1100. All participants were also awarded certificates in recognition of their participation and effort.
The dignitaries congratulated the winners and encouraged students to remain connected with their cultural roots while contributing positively to society. The event concluded on a patriotic and celebratory note, reflecting the spirit and values inspired by Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
