Ludhiana, March 23, 2014: The Aam Admi Party’s candidate from Ludhiana parliamentary seat HS Phoolka and party members paid homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Jagraon Bridge on Sunday, marking the day when the three freedom fighters gave their lives for the independence of India. A citizen’s march was initiated from the spot, led by Phoolka after the garland ceremony of the three statues of the great martyrs. AAP pledged to work on the vision of the martyrs to establish a corruption free nation.

Phoolka while remembering the biggest revolutionists of this country said, “Even after 65 years of independence, the aam aadmi (common man) of this country has not got freedom in the true sense of the word as per the exact vision of these martyrs and no past government has put any serious efforts for that. The aam aadmi is still a slave to the “parchi system” and corruption being followed by the politicians of Punjab. No common man can get any simple work done from the administration without corruption and political recommendations as there has been a total breakdown of the administrative system.”

Phoolka further added, “The Right to Service Act was notified by the Akali-BJP Government but it has been a total eyewash. The people of Punjab have a constitutional and legal right to get services in a time bound manner, without corruption or a political recommendation. But the Act exists only on paper, instead the Akali-BJP Government has corrupted the administrative system to such an extent where the MLAs, MP and Councilors only get the work of any person done at their whims. These politicians want people to be massaging their egos at all times and remain as beggars to them for any work which is in any case the duty of the government administration. We will implement the Right to Service Act such that any persons work is done in the proper way on its own without any political interference. That will be “freedom” of people- “freedom” of the aam aadmi and a true tribute to the great freedom fighters of India.

In a loud voice Phoolka pledged, “AAP promises to carry forward Bhagat Singh’s vision of Independent India.” In response the citizens raised Inqlaab Zindabad slogans which carried on all the way during this rally which continued to various city areas including; Mata Rani Chowk, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Kochar Market, Model Gram, Gurdev Nagar, Rani Jhansi Road, and ended at party’s office at Sarabha Nagar.
