Training session organised for campus ambassadors to spread awareness among young voters

The district administration organized a training program for campus ambassadors appointed under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) on Tuesday. The campus ambassadors have been selected to spread awareness among college students on how they can enrol themselves as voters and exercise their right to vote.

Ludhiana, April 9, 2024: The district administration organized a training program for campus ambassadors appointed under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) on Tuesday. The campus ambassadors have been selected to spread awareness among college students on how they can enrol themselves as voters and exercise their right to vote. 

On Tuesday, training session was held by SVEEP Nodal Officer (Ludhiana West) Meenu Adya and campus ambassadors from different colleges including Government College for Girls, Malwa Central College of Education For Women, and Khalsa College for Women, Khalsa Institute of Management and Technology (KIMT) etc participated in the same. Regular voter awareness programs are being organized in the district under the directions of District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney.

District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney said that the aim was to ensure maximum participation of youth during the Lok Sabha-2024 elections and achieve the target of more than 70 percent voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections (Iss Baar, 70 Paar). She further added that campus ambassadors are also being trained so that they can spread awareness among college students. The students, especially the eligible first-time voters, are being encouraged to enroll themselves as voters and to exercise their 'Right to Vote' without any fear or influence.
