Dharamshala, October 23, 2025: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a young couple near Kachiari on the Old Kangra Bypass four-lane in Kangra on Thursday afternoon. The couple’s two children miraculously escaped with minor injuries.
According to police reports, the van was traveling from Ranital toward Kangra when it lost control and crashed into a roadside retaining wall . The impact was so severe that the vehicle’s front portion was completely destroyed, trapping the occupants inside. Local residents, with the help of police, had to cut open the vehicle to extricate the bodies.
The deceased have been identified as Kuldeep (27) and his wife Tamanna (26), residents of Scout Village, Kangra. The family was reportedly on their way to Kangra to visit relatives when the accident occurred.
Their children, Saksham (6) and Priyanka (4), sustained minor injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby health center for treatment. Both are reported to be in stable condition.
DSP Ankit Sharma confirmed that police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination.
