Amritsar/Chandigarh, October 29, 2013: In a tragic road accident near Amritsar today, seven persons were killed and fourteen others were injured.
The truck driver was among those killed in the bus and a truck collision. The bus was on its way to Amritsar from Pathankot.
Meanwhile, a report from Chandigarh said: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue and Public Relations Minister today expressed deep shock and anguish over the tragic road accident in which seven persons were killed Jethuwal on Amritsar-Batala Road.
Expressing grief over this disastrous accident, Sukhbir and Majithia shared their heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and courage to family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed deep shock and anguish over the tragic bus-truck collision, near village Jethuwal on Amritsar-Batala road, in which seven persons were killed and 14 injured  
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give them courage to bear huge loss in this hour of crisis and grant peace to the departed souls.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also announced an ex -gratia grant of Rs 1 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and free medical treatment to the injured in the government hospitals. He also directed the Civil and Police administration to extend all possible help to ensure best and free treatment to all the injured and make elaborate arrangements to send the bodies of  the victims at their native places.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also shared their heartfelt condolences over this tragic incident. www.cityairnews.com
