Industrialists and traders stage protest in Jalandhar on Wednesday.

Jalandhar, October 23, 2013: Traders and industrialists on Wednesday took out a march from Milap Chowk to AETC-2 office here today, and then staged a protest dharna on BMC Chowk, in protest against new policies of the state government.
Addressing the protestors, the Traders’ leader Ravinder Dheer strongly opposed advance tax, processing fee and delay in releasing value added tax (VAT). Leader of the industrialists Gursharan Singh spoke about the problems being faced with regard to C form, property tax and other issues.
Former Mayor Jai Kishan Saini said the industries were in crisis due to anti-industry policies of the present state government, adding there was even a threat of migration of industries to other states from Punjab. He feared that if this process started then the Punjab government would lose the revenue and unemployment would increase.
Among others, Parveen Kohli, Satish Kapur, Amit Garg, Parveen Handa, Nirmal Singh Bedi, Manoj Arora, Arun Bajaj, Vivek Thakur, Harish Gupta, Lalit Gupta, Ram Kumar Sharma, Vinod Gupta, Pritam Singh Arora, Ashwani Victor and Parmod Chopra  were present. www.cityairnews.com
