New Delhi/Jalandhar, January 22, 2014: The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ranchi(Jharkhand) has today convicted 19 accused in one of the Fodder Scam Cases and sentenced seven accused viz Rajdeo Sharma, the then Treasury officer, Godda Treasury(Jharkhand) to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2.85 lakh; Sanjay Kumar, Proprietor of M/s Sanjay Kumar, Dealing in Cattle Feed & General order suppliers, Dumka to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2.95 lakh; Smt. Saraswati Chandra, Proprietor of M/s S.R.Entreprises, Patna & Sunil Kumar Sinha, Proprietor of M/s Samarpan Veterinary Enterprises, both to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.3.20 lakh each; Sanjay Shankar, Owner of M/s Kautilya Pharma Distributors, Bhagalpur; Parthsarthi Sinha, Partner of M/s Sinha Surgical & Chemical Mgf.Co., Ranchi & T.M.Prasad, Proprietor of M/s Bihar Surgico Medico Agency, S.K.Puri, Patna, all three to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2.20 lakh each.

CBI had registered the case in Apri, 1996 and filed a chargesheet on 10.06.1998 against 30 accused persons for fraudulent withdrawal of Rs.1,16,93,462 from Godda Treasury during the Financial Year 1992-95 on the basis of forged budget allotment/sub-allotment letters & false bills raised either without effecting any supply or after making partial  supply of poultry feed and vet medicines to Animal Husbandry Department.  Out of 30 chargesheeted accused persons, six accused persons expired during trial and two were made approver. Two accused were convicted earlier after they pleaded guilty during trial. One accused has been absconding.

The sentence in respect of 12 convicts viz Jagdish Sharma, the then Chairman, PAC, Bihar Legislative Assembly, Patna; Dr. Shashi Kumar Sinha, the then TVO(M) in the office of DAHO, Godda;  Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha, the then TVO(M), in the office of DAHO, Godda; Bhanukar Duby, the then Scrutiny Clerk, Treasury office, Godda; Mahendra Prasad; Jyoti Kumar Jha, Proprietor of M/s Seva Medical Agency, Main Road Godda; Umesh Dubey, Proprietor of M/s Janata Veterinary, Kanke Road, Ranchi; B. P Sinha, Proprietor of M/s Ekta Veterinary Work, Ranchi; Amit Kumar, Proprietor M/s Asha Pharmaceuticals, Dehri-on-sone, Distt. Rohtas; Subhashish Deb, Proprietor  M/s Shree Ram Enterprises, Kharan Haighar Market, Jamshedpur; Chandra Sekhar Dubey, Proprietor of M/s Manisha Entreprises, Ranchi  and Braj  Bhushan Prasad, the then Budget-cum-Account Officer, Animal Husbandry Department, Patna  will be pronounced on 24.01.2014.

This was the 46th Fodder Scam case tried at Ranchi.
